Croydon
Croydon is located in the London Borough of Croydon approximately 9 miles south of London, with Sutton to the west, Purley to the South, Bromley to north east and Streatham to the north. Croydon is a very popular location for commuters into Central London with excellent road, rail and tram modes of transport.
Croydon has an estimated resident population of circa 400,000 people.
Croydon – Retail:
Croydon has a busy and vibrant town centre. The Whitgift and Centrale Shopping Centres are the principle shopping centres in Croydon.
There are longstanding proposal by The Croydon Partnership which is a joint venture between Westfield and Hammerson, to redevelop the Whitgift and renovate the Centrale Shopping Centres into a £1.4bn world class retail and leisure destination “Westfield Croydon”. The scheme will provide 1.5 million square feet of retail and leisure space including a major department store, 300+ shops, multi-screen cinema, bowling alley and restaurants.
“Boxpark Croydon” which comprises a range of pop up retail shops, restaurants and bars in shipping containers is adjacent to East Croydon Station.
Croydon – Industrial:
The principal location for industrial property in Croydon is along the A23 Purley Way, between Purley and Thornton Heath. Croydon is very popular with industrial occupiers, who can take advantage of its strategic location close to Central London with excellent road communications to the national motorway network via the A23.
Croydon – Offices:
The majority of Croydon’s commercial office space is located in the heart of Croydon Town Centre.
Considerable new office development has taken place in Croydon including the completion of new schemes at Renaissance and Interchange. The first phase of Ruskin Square adjacent to East Croydon Station, which extends to circa 185,000 sq.ft has now been completed.
Things To Do in Croydon:
Croydon has a lot to offer the people that live and work in the town. There is a large selection of national chain restaurants alongside more local independents. Croydon also has a large number of bars and clubs.
If you like the theatre and performing arts, visit Croydon’s Fairfield Halls has now been fully refurbished.
