M&S confirm closing date for their retail unit in the Belfry Shopping Centre, Redhill, Surrey.M&S have confirmed that their retail unit in the Belfry Shopping Centre will close for good on the 17th August 2024.
Marks & Spencer announced the retail store was at risk of closing in recent months. The anticipated confirmation is a another blow to Redhill's retail sector and under pressure commercial property investment market.

The announcement that M&S is to permanently close it's doors in the Belfry Shopping Centre is a significant blow to the High Street in Redhill. Now the nearest M&S to Redhill is a food only store on the High Street in Reigate.
The closure of M&S retail unit in Redhill will leave a big whole to fill in the Belfry Shopping Centre.

Whilst of less significance to Redhill High Street, the closure of Papa Johns is still important to the well being of Redhill. Papa Johns are closing 43 of its 450 retail outlets across the UK following a review of the business which identified these stores were not financially viable. .
On a positive note Poundland have taken over the former Wilko's retail unit on the High Street, but more main stream brands need to be attracted.
